Medical Visitation Rights and Minnesota

Kevin| Category: Uncategorized | 0 Comments

(I’ve cross-listed a slighty modified version of this at my blog)

I just cannot believe this, but a bill in Minnesota has to do with medical visitation rights and whether or not gay and lesbians should have these rights when their partners are ill!  A man named Tom Prichard, the “president” of the Minnesota Family Council was against me being able to see Doug in the hospital (while I don’t live in Minnesota, I am still going to put a personal spin on this because this will affect real people, and not those nameless ‘homosexuals’ that these people hate).

This is some of what Prichard had to say:

“The concerns we have with the bill is that it would create a family redefinition… If the state begins writing in alternative, marriage-like statuses it will make our marriage law more vulnerable in court.”

How hateful and spiteful can you be to block people who love each other from seeing them while in the hospital?  How on earth does this affect their sad little lives (I mean the Prichards of this world)?  This Minnesota Family Council is yet another one of these junk, pseudo-family organizations that exists only to fill the pockets of their founders.  They too have an ‘action alert.’  Here is one from the other day, which they are asking their members to contact their legislators and block:

  1. SF 1369 would require state and localgovernment to provide benefits to same-sex couples and redefines marriage (domestic partnership) to include persons of the same sex. (This bill may be buried in an omnibus “catch all” bill.)
  2. SF 960 would allow local government to provide benefits to same-sex couples.

And why do they oppose these things?

Six reasons why mandating homosexual domestic partner benefits for state and local employees is a bad idea:

1. Homosexual domestic partner benefits are marriage by another name.

2.
Homosexual domestic partner benefits are unfair and discriminatory towards existing families.

3.
It would provide homosexual partners of state and localgovernment employees special benefits and treat them better than married spouses.

4.
Domestic partner benefits are part of an “incremental” strategy tolegalize [sic] homosexual marriage in Minnesota.

5.
Domestic partner benefits would undermine Minnesota’s current marriage law.

6.
Passing domestic partnership legislation is not an acceptable compromise to same-sex marriage advocates and will not end the debate.

Saying that giving domestic partners benefits is ‘unfair and discriminatory’ is like saying giving minorities voting rights is unfair and discriminatory to the majority.

Clearly whoever made up this list cannot, or will not, think straight.  They complain that giving gays and lesbians rights is like making these partnerships marriage, but in #3, they state that they would actually get better treatment than ‘married spouses.’  Of course, they don’t explain because these are lies.  Here is their official reason for supporting #3:

  • State law requires a married person to financially support his or her spouse.  It’s reasonable for the state to provide health benefits to married spouses and their children because the employee has a legal duty to care for these persons financially.
  • A homosexual domestic partner, however, has no such legal duty.  Granting homosexual employees these domestic partner benefits means they would receive a special benefit.  They would receive benefits from the government without any legal responsibility to care for their partners.

Makes sense, no?  No, it does not.  Why?  Because these very same fundamentalists have voted to not allow gays and lesbians to get married, thereby making them legally responsible to ‘financially support his or her spouse.’  So because of the efforts of people like Prichard and his money-making hate group, gays and lesbians have no such legal duty.  How convenient for them to state this as they did.  This is just like some groups like Exodus who are against Hate Crime legislation to include gays and lesbians, and yet they still quote Hate Crime legislation to show that most hate crimes are not against gays and lesbians!  They work to keep us out, and then use skewed statistics to show that we don’t need protection, because there are not that many crimes against gays and lesbians!

You can also look up this hate group at Guidestar.org.  They are a 501(c)4 group, meaning they can use their money to lobby.  For some reason their last Form 990 was from 2004.  Not sure why 2005 has not been submitted…Anyway, they are a small organization, which only received a little under $170,000 in 2004.  And they had a loss of nearly $40,000!  Tom Prichard, the guy who still runs the show, paid himself a little over $21,000, while the CEO received a bit. However, their 2004 tax returns show that they spent almost $100,000 total on compensation for officers as well as ‘other salaries and wages.’  So they pulled in $170,000, and spent $100,000 on themselves.  You have to wonder if the people that are sending them the cash know that they are just lining the pockets of a few and receiving little results???  I’m telling you, I am so close to starting my own 501(c)4 and/or 501(c)3…

And of course, they do have their own little non-profit 501(c)3, called the Minnesota Family Institute.  They received a bit more money, nearly 1/2 million as stated in their 990 (which is information that is free to the public at Guidestar.org).  But like their 501(c)4, they paid a total of just over $300,00 to their directors and to other salaries!  And guess who the president of this non-profit is?  No other than Tom Prichard, who paid himself just over $60,000.  This is pretty good, considering that in 2003 his salary was just over $40,000!  And what warranted just a jump in his salary?  In 2003, they reported a little over $424,000 in gifts, grants and contributions received.  In 2004, the number was about $458,000, a difference of $34,000.  So of that, $20,000 went directly into Mr. Prichard’s pocket.  So $80,000 isn’t too bad a salary on milking the public for funds.  I’m sure Peter LaBarbera is just so jealous…

Now getting back to the issue of partner visitation rights:  I remember clearly when Doug called me and said he was in an accident.  I also remember the horror when I called him right back and the paramedic answered his phone and said they were on their way to the emergency room.  I also remember getting to the hospital before the ambulance even got there and wondering if they would let me in to see him, since I am ‘only’ his partner of 13 years (at that point).  Luckily there were no problems (I live in California, thank God!), and I have to say that I am not a violent person at all, but there is no one on this earth that would have stopped me from seeing Doug.  No one.  They would have to arrest me to keep me from going into that emergency room.

People like the Prichards of this world need to have their greed and hate exposed.  They set up and/or take over these non-profit and 501(c)4 groups, and then live off the money that they get people to send them.

Peter LaBarbera’s Wasted Adulthood on just “1.4%” of the Population…

Kevin| Category: Uncategorized | 2 Comments

(I’ve crosslisted this with my blog

Today at the AFTAH, Peter LaBarbera is reporting that ‘Canadian Research Suggests Only 1.4% of Adults Homosexual.’  As usual for his hate-site, he just cuts and pastes (who knew it would be so easy to have a non-profit???), but he does give a little comment before his pasting:

Readers should know that the same homosexual activist movement that now dismisses the Camerons’ research had, for decades, intentionally spread the myth — derived from homosexual sex researcher Alfred Kinsey’s fraudulent data — that “10 percent” of society was “gay.” – Peter LaBarbera

I had two immediate thoughts on this:

1)  So Peter LaBarbera thinks that only 1.4% of the population is homosexual?  If so, how sad to think that he has spent 100% of his adult life trying to take away the rights and to spread fear for such a small number of people.

2)  My second though is that Paul Cameron and Kirk Cameron has been shown to have lied before, or shown to be taking his ’scientific research’ out of newspapers, and sure enough, this ’study’ of his is worth less than the paper it was once printed on.

Some of the problems with this ‘research’ (and you can read the paper here):

1.  In his bibliography he does not give page numbers to what he is referring to.  I would fail my undergraduate students if they ever tried to write a research essay without proper footnotes.  What this tells me is that Cameron is probably writing off the top of his head and that he probably never read what he is referring to.  A good example is he states that “Kinsey’s 1948 claim that “37% of all men” had a homosexual orgasm…”  His reference gives the Kinsey book, but no page number.  Which means it is impossible to look up his source and this is exactly what he hopes for.  He does this even for his first footnote.  This is not proper research.

2. Once again he has gone through newspapers and acts as if this is scientific research.  Included in this ‘research’ are obituaries.  He stresses that he went through all of them from 1988, 1989, 1999, and 2002 and took a ’systematic sample’ of them.  He also went through obits. from 1993-2005 from the Washington Post and the Washington Blade.  And you automatically have to question his ’systematic sample.’  This sounds like he chose the ones that fitted what he wanted to hear.

Anyone with an even remotely scientific thought will see that you cannot get scientific data from obituaries.  For example, if two openly gay men had their obituaries in the Washington Blade, and if they died of AIDS at 45, then there is a good chance that the obit. would mention this.  But what about the countless other gay men who were closeted and this was not mentioned in their obituaries, nor were they printed in the Washington Blade.  You can see the problem here, but yet he was allowed to discuss this research at a so-called scientific conference (the Eastern Psychological Association).

3. If you look at the EPA’s website, they claim that ‘luminaries from all areas of psychology give master lectures about the current state and future directions of their particular area of expertise…”  If the EPA thinks that that shoddy ‘research’ was a master lecture, then the EPA can have no credibility.   That said, I looked at their calendar and most of the talks looked pretty sensible.  So I wonder how Cameron and Cameron got in?  ***I just noticed that Cameron and Cameron had a poster, and did not give a lecture. I also see that these two did not give a lecture or present a poster in 2005 or 2006.  I wonder why they did not give a lecture and instead opted for a poster session?

Anyway, this is just another junk ’scientific’ paper from the Cameron’s.  Maybe Peter LaBarbera should actually listen to this ‘research’ from his beloved Cameron’s and stop spending his life attacking just 1.4% of the population!

Turning a Horrible Tragedy into Just as Horrible Hate Speech

JoeBrummer| Category: Cross-Posted, Ex-Gay Issues, Hate Speech, Lies, Stephen Bennett, Uncategorized | 0 Comments

Cross posted from “Replace the Lies With Truth

I often see anti-gay advocates make tragedies even more tragic when they turn them into hate speech against gays. Ex-gay minister, Stephen Bennett is very good at this. In his latest blog post, he carefully, and skillfully chooses words that try to link homosexuality to child molestation. What is tragic for all of us is the misinformation puts more kids at risk. What is tragic is that this type of distortion perpetuates the myth that gay men are more often child molesters than straight men. It is nothing more than taking a sad and tragic event and making it even more tragic by using it as hate speech.

Stephen Bennett writes on his site:

“Read the story and weep. Weep for the young, innocent little boy whose life was taken in the most heinous of ways, because of two demented and evil homosexuals, a father and son, and a perverted wife and mother. The two homosexual men took turns brutally molesting and sodomizing the child before choking the little boy to death.”

The distortion us subtle, but it is there. Stephen is turning the focus of this tragic story to something that doesn’t even exist in the story. There is no evidence these men were homosexual, in fact the evidence points to them being heterosexual. This older man did not identify as a homosexual man. He was married to the women in this story. It is also not clear from this story if the younger man identified as homosexual. Stephen is calling them “homosexual” men because it fits with his distortion that gay men molest at a higher rate. The distortion gets worse when we realize that when a man molests a little girl, Stephen does not refer to them as heterosexual molesters. Men who are attracted to children are just that, attracted to children. Studies show that those who are attracted to children tend not to care as much about the gender of the child but the availability of the child. It all comes down to the language.

Dr. Gregory Herek explains:

“Another problem related to terminology arises because sexual abuse of male children by adult men2 is often referred to as “homosexual molestation.” The adjective “homosexual” (or “heterosexual” when a man abuses a female child) refers to the victim’s gender in relation to that of the perpetrator. Unfortunately, people sometimes mistakenly interpret it as referring to the perpetrator’s sexual orientation.”

Stephen Bennett continues this distortion by changing the wording in the Fox News Story. Again, the changes are subtle but just enough for the reader to make a false link to homosexuality and child molestation.

The original wording of the story said:

The indictment charges all three family members with murder and child molestation in the slaying of Christopher, whose body was found March 15 inside a trash bag dumped by a roadside.

Stephen changed the wording to read:

The indictment charges all three family members with murder and homosexual child molestation in the slaying of Christopher, whose body was found March 15 inside a trash bag dumped by a roadside.

Seriously? Real Civil Rights?

Punted| Category: Americans for "Truth", Fundies, Hate Crime Laws, Hate Speech, Lies, Peter LaBarbera, Uncategorized | 2 Comments

It came to my attention today on the AFT home page that Peter Labarbera has started yet another misleading website/organization aimed at fighting the forces of good and equality in Illinois.  His new organization that he’s “director” of is called “Real Civil Rights Illinois.”

From the “About” section:

Real Civil Rights Illinois is a statewide pro-marriage, pro-life organization founded for the purpose of defending real civil and human rights as opposed to the modern, counterfeit variety based on homosexuality, abortion and pornography usage. We reject the notion of expanding “civil rights” to include homosexual behavior (”sexual orientation”) - which tramples on the rights of people of faith to oppose homosexuality - and abortion, which destroys the God-given right of children in the womb to live. We oppose the idea that citizens have a “right” to view pornography in taxpayer-funded public libraries. Real Civil Rights Illinois is part of Americans For Truth Action, a national C-4 organization. Gifts to RCR-IL and Americans For Truth Action are not tax-deductible, allowing us greater freedom to lobby in defense of pro-family and pro-life values.

Send E-mail

Where to begin?  Has Peter LaBarbera gone daffy?  Discrimination and fomenting violence are not rights.  Ensuring that a group of law-abiding, tax-paying, citizens remain second-class is not a right.  Forcing people in a free society to live by the rules of someone’s God is not a right.  Peter apparntly doesn’t know what a civil right is.

civil right
noun
right or rights belonging to a person by reason of citizenship including especially the fundamental freedoms and privileges guaranteed by the 13th and 14th amendments and subsequent acts of Congress including the right to legal and social and economic equality

Poor, poor, Peter.  He pulls out the religious persecution card again, saying equal civil rights  would trample of the rights of people of faith to oppose homosexuality.  How is this so?  In the United States he and everyone else that is opposed to LGBT equality are and will be forever able to spout their anti-gay rhetoric.  What is not acceptable and that we fight for unapologeticaly is the same fundamental rights that heterosexuals have.  We want to know that if we’re attacked solely because of our real or percieved sexuality that law enforcement officials will not be able to turn a blind eye because of their personal bias agianst us.  No one is going to take away Peter’s right to be a ‘Peter’ and disagree with us.

Besides, Peter, aren’t two anti-gay organizations enough?  Now you need to inject a third dosage of poison into Naperville?

AFA Shows a “scary” video

Punted| Category: Action Alert!, American Family Association, Don Wildmon, Fundies, Hate Crime Laws, Hate Speech, Lies, Pride, Video | 1 Comment

Ole Don Wildmon cranks it out again with another “Action Alert!” He posts a vide which he calls “very offensive” because most of it doesn’t fit into his narrow, twisted-bible-view of the world.  All this to drum up fear of the Hate Crimes bill being worked on in the Congress.

A new “hate crimes” bill further protecting homosexual activity has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives. The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act would increase protection for the kind of activity shown on this video.

The bill is the first step toward silencing any opposition to the homosexual lifestyle. This video will show you the kind of activity this bill protects. The video was shot during an actual homosexual pride parade in Dallas.

If this “hate crimes” bill is passed, and you publicly protest, complain or oppose the type of activity in this video, your action could eventually be construed to be subject to prosecution for a criminal act.

Well there’s probably only one overtly sexual scene in the entire video and that’s the two “cowboys,” one giving another a bath, which sort-of looks like siimulated masturbation which the parade probably could have done without.  But the main thing is the people that go to be in the parade and those who watch the parade know exactly what to expect.

You be the judge.

*Update: Video set to private by poster (good for him), so you’ll have to go by my description below.

The morality of the “ICK” factor.

JoeBrummer| Category: Americans for "Truth", Hate Speech, Uncategorized | 0 Comments

The morality of the “ICK” factor.

While I was entertained when Peter La Barbera called me obsessed with Americans for Truth, I find that obsession much like most people’s obsession with American Idol. Peter on the other hand has proven he has a very unhealthy obsession with what gay men do in bed. His latest post is clearly evidence of this obsession.

Peter somehow has lost site of the facts of human sexuality. Simply, most people seem to void in their mind that nothing gay men do in the sack is any different from what heterosexuals do. Anal sex, oral sex, etc…all the same as what I see on any heterosexual porn site.

Peter writes in a very amusing article on his site for Americans for Truth:

“We should demand answers from the equivocating politicians and agnostic media: is it moral for men to engage in anal sodomy with one another? Is it moral for a man to stick his sex organ in the anus or mouth of another man? What about licking another man’s anus, as an act of pleasure? (Again, “rimming” … yuck…. no wonder “gay” advocates call this the “ick factor” and avoid publicly discussing actual homosexual behaviors like the plague.)”

Eagerly Awaiting a Response to a Much Overlooked Issue

Punted| Category: Don't Ask, Don't Tell | 1 Comment

The following is a letter I wrote to Represtantive Meehan (D-MA). I’ll post his response when I get it.

Rep. Meehan,I applaud your recent re-introduction of the “Military Readiness Enhancement Act.” I was the person in the corner live-blogging the event. As a gay former Airman I recognize the need to lift this hurtful ban on Military Professionals is like lifting a dark stain from Our Flag, however, I have some concerns for the effectiveness of the bill.

As I have noted in a discussion on Pam’s House Blend with Director of Communications for SLDN, Steve Ralls, the bill allows for military members to serve openly with conditions if it is passed, but it doesn’t get rid of the underlying problem of Article 125 of the UCMJ, “Sodomy.” The article is supposed to be applied to ALL members of the military equally regardless of sexual orientation specifying basically that which goes on behind closed doors is regulated to a specific position and only with a married member of the opposite sex. This means that even if the “Military Readiness Enhancement Act” is passed, it would still mean that Gays and Lesbians would not be allowed to serve openly.

Gays and lesbians would still be punished disproportionately to their heterosexual counterparts if they admitted to having a signifigant other, or boyfriend, or girlfriend, because this would imply an admission of sodomy. What this bill actually does is allow gays and lesbians to be openly celebate. It’s a reality that article 125 is not applied consistently throughout the military except in cases of homosexuality, adultry, rape, incest, or child molestation. Anyone can observe this by listening to candid conversations among military members of all branches of service. General Pace was wrong to call gays and lesbians “immoral,” but this shows how article 125 will be applied disproportionately. Simply stated, instead of gays and lesbians having to change pronouns when referring to their partners, they must eliminate pronouns out of their vocabulary all together. Where, sir, is the equality in this?

My reccomendation is to amend the “Military Readiness Enhancement Act” with either an amendment to Article 125 in the UCMJ or an elimination of Article 125 all together and still allowing punishment for Adultry, Rape, Incest, or Child Molestation. As it currently is, Article 125 negates the “MREA.”

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Daimeon Pilcher

Peter LaBarbera’s appearance on MSNBC

Kevin| Category: Uncategorized | 0 Comments

(I’ve cross-listed this with my own blog and at Replace the Lies with Truth

I see over at Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (why didn’t MSNBC call it by the legal name? They just called it Americans For Truth) that Peter LaBarbera is up in arms over his appearance on MSNBC.  I can’t insert the video but you can see it here.  What you will notice as you watch this is that Peter LaBarbera has essentially nothing to say, except to repeat over and over that parents have a right to know what their kids are learning.  He repeats this about three times.  And Jason Cianciotto (from the National Gay and Lesbian Taskforce) agrees with him.   However, this is what LaBarbera thinks ‘an astute observer’ will notice from watching this video:

  • Systematically allege that Christians and Christian organizations foment hatred by teaching traditional, Biblical morality; accuse them of inciting violence — not only against “gays,” but even against school children;
  • Lobby for “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” to be added to federal “Hate Crimes” legislation, making “hate crimes” against a homosexual or “transgendered” person more serious legally than a crime against a pregnant or elderly woman (Call Congress at 202-224-3121 and tell your Representative and Senators that you OPPOSE the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crime Prevention Act.)
  • Silence Christians and pro-family organizations by urging the media to ignore their viewpoint in stories, by urging papers to drop conservative columns, by expressing indignation when public officials speak at conservative events, etc.
  • Happening now in Canada and Great Britain but coming to the USA? … Prosecute Christians and Christian organizations criminally and in civil court for “hate speech.”

I don’t think that Peter LaBarbera remembers what he said, or whether he actually watched himself in the video.  Let’s go over his four points he thinks are found in the video:

1.  Jason Cianciotto never mentioned the Bible, or Christians, or biblical morality.  He did justly accuse Peter LaBarbera and Americans for Truth about Homosexuality in spreading hate and fear, which makes the lives of some gays and lesbians miserable.

2.  There is absolutely no mention of federal hate crime legislation at all in this video.

3.  There is absolutely no mention of silencing viewpoints in this video–none whatsoever.  Peter gets a chance to speak, but just repeats over and over again what he said previously.

4.  And again, no mention of hate speech and/or prosecuting ‘Christians and Christian organizations.’

Maybe this is what Peter LaBarbera thinks is on that video, but he is so mistaken that you have to wonder what was going through his mind when he thought an ‘astute observer’ would see his four points.  Maybe he was just dazzled that he was actually asked to be on MSNBC…

And at the end of Peter’s post, he asks his readers to take this challenge:

I will be as committed to standing against the “gay” political/cultural agenda as the homosexual activists are in pushing their Big Lie of “civil rights” based on destructive and immoral homosexual behavior.

No one including Peter LaBarbera mentioned civil rights in this video.  He is clutching at straws and once again bringing up the false charges of ‘destructive and immoral homosexual behavior.’  How sad for him and how sad for the rest of us that once again have to put up with his insane obsession with all things gay and lesbian.

Stacy Harp Implies That SoulForce Damaged Its Own Bus

Kevin| Category: Uncategorized | 6 Comments

(I cross posted this at my blog and at Replace the Lies with Truth)

I just read one of my usual reads (NG Blog) and noticed that Stacy Harp, who is someone I haven’t mentioned in a while, is implying that the writing on the SoulForce bus was done by SoulForce for publicity!

Here are some bits and pieces of her comments:

And considering the past has shown us that some lesbians and homosexuals like to be victims of their own crimes, well, as is documented in The Criminalization of Christianity, who is to say that it wasn’t someone from the homosexual community that vandalized the bus?

Now let’s consider this from another angle - what if it turns out that the bus being vandalized was actually done by members of Soulforce?

Since this little protesting event is a very very very small story and essentially no one in the media is covering it, it’s it convenient to actually have this vandalism act take place on the FIRST day of the event?

Also, it stands to reason that if indeed it was actual members of Soulforce who did the dirty deed, what better way to get some media publicity. After all, they were the “victims” of a “hate crime” and so someone in the media has to report on it.

So here is what the “facts” tell us - there is no evidence it was Christian fundamentalists and there is no evidence it was anyone from Soulforce.

However, Soulforce is the only one who gains anything with this story - so you make your own conclusion.

I don’t even want to comment on such things–but I will.  It is like saying that members of SoulForce are also dressing up like policemen and policewomen and arresting themselves to get attention.  It is like saying that they set up a fake Christian college and got some fake Christians to come out and harass them just so they could get some attention.  Give me a break.

The sad thing about this is that Stacy claims that she is being harassed by a ‘gay blogger.’  Now using her reasoning, where is the evidence that she is not sending these emails to herself?  Could she be Graham Kaye?  Is she really being threatened, or making this up?  Who gains from this type of story? No one but Stacy.

See how that kind of logic works?

Good News on the Same Sex Marriage Front in California

Kevin| Category: Uncategorized | 1 Comment

The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting today on some good news:

Opposition to same-sex marriage has steadily declined among Californians over the past two decades, and the change is more attributable to younger generations being supportive than to people adjusting their stance, according to a new Field Poll analysis.

…Gossett and Lewis looked at public opinion on the issue between 1985, when 30 percent of Californian adults supported same-sex marriage, and 2006, when 43 percent of people approved. Half of California adults still oppose extending marriage rights to same-sex couples, according to surveys conducted by the Field Poll and other groups.

Unfortunately during this same time, support has fallen among African Americans and the usual suspects–Protestants and conservatives.

Here are the results of their survey:

The World According to Peter La Barbera and Americans for Truth

JoeBrummer| Category: Americans for "Truth", Hate Speech, Peter LaBarbera, Uncategorized | 0 Comments

I have written before about the “big question.” Where do people like La Barbera see gays in the world when their mission is complete. What end goals are people like La Barbera working for? What happens to gays and lesbians who don’t subscribe to his insane notions? Are we in jail? Are we in camps waiting to be gassed? Does La Barbera really think his hate for us is stronger than our love for our partners? The answer is in.

La Barbera writes on his blog (bold print mine):

LaBarbera is encouraging conservatives and people of faith likewise to think long-term. “We must retain the goal of repealing all ’sexual orientation’ laws - in Illinois and across the nation - since they are incompatible with the basic American freedoms of religion, conscience, and association,” he says on his group’s website. “And we must act to protect marriage as between a man and a woman at the state and federal constitutional levels.”

Repeal of all “sexual orientation” laws? So in other words, he wants to reinstate Sodomy laws and make homosexuality illegal? He wants to roll back nondiscrimination laws so we can be fired from our jobs? He wants to bar us from seeing our partners in ER’s across the nation? No offense but this is the purest evil I have ever heard. It lacks any compassion that he has ever tried to convince us he has for “homosexuals”.

It appears that La Barbera failed science as well since he says:

“Greg Harris is the new homosexual rep representing ‘Boystown,’ which is the homosexual neighborhood in Chicago. He replaces another homosexual,” says LaBarbera. “He is HIV positive and even put … on his resume, publicly, that he has AIDS.” The Americans for Truth spokesman says he finds that both sad and ironic. “He’s bearing a disease that is caused by this lifestyle,” he notes, “and now he wants to take this lifestyle and say that it merits being called ‘marriage.”

Does he not know that HIV/AIDS is cause by a virus not a lifestyle? Is he unaware that most gays do not have AIDS? This type of language is so close to the propaganda of the Nazi’s is scares me. Gays are the source of disease. Gays are destroying marriage. Gays this and gays that. La Barbera is one misinformed man with evil works. He is saying that being gay is just a lifestyle, and that the lifestyle causes disease. Now lets look at the Nazi Propaganda again….

Insidious Jews spread disease like rats
“In this way, they (the rats) spread disease, plague, leprosy, typhoid fever, cholera, dysentery, and so on. They are cunning, cowardly, and cruel, and are found mostly in large packs. Among the animals, they represent the rudiment of an insidious and underground destruction - just like the Jews among human beings.”- Nazi propaganda film, “The Eternal Jew,”

“Jews are like rats that spread disease”, is what the Nazi’s claimed to incite fear in others about the Jews. This is the same tactic La Barbera is using. We as a society should be deeply alarmed that this type of hate speech is surfacing again.

In an interview with “Republicans for Fair Media,” La Barbera makes some of the most outrageous claims yet. Someone should just give him a soapbox and let him speak since his words are more damaging to his mission than anything I could say to expose his lies. He shoots himself in the foot when he makes statements like:

Who’s Team are They On?

Between presidential hopefulls Mitt Romney, and Rudy Guilanni it’s hard to tell who’s playing for which team or if they’re even on the team at all.  Either way, we footballs in the PresidentBowl, are getting the boot.

Mitt Romney was invited to Pat “Juiced” Robertson’s 700 Club where he went on the offensive against the Guiliani camp which airs March 6th on ABC.

“He is pro-choice, he is pro-gay marriage, and anti-gun,” said former Gov. Mitt Romney, R-Mass., in an interview taped in Boston on Feb. 28. “That’s a tough combination in a Republican primary.”

Giuliani is often described as being “pro-gay rights” because he signed a 1997 bill creating domestic-partnership benefits in New York City. He has never, however, been “pro-gay marriage.”

…When contacted by ABC News, the Romney campaign was not able to provide substantiation for the governor’s claim that Giuliani is “pro-gay marriage“.

So Mitt kicks us to smear Guiliani with his almost “pro-gay” stance.  Guiliani’s tolerance of gays and lesbians is actually used against him in a political smear tactic.  Mitt’s own past has him in a pro-gay rights position when he ran against Ted Kennedy (D-MA), an action for which he cannot reconcile with his now anti-gay rhetoric and the fundamentalist conservatives who want to support him.

But wait, Guiliani doesn’t want the ball and kicks us back

Responding to the criticism, Giuliani spokeswoman Katie Levinson said: “Mayor Giuliani has the utmost respect for Governor Romney. The mayor’s position on gay marriage has been both clear and consistent - he does not support gay marriage and believes marriage should be between a man a woman.”

This football says it’s time to call a time-out and put these two in the penalty box for a long time.
