Marriage In California About to Be Destroyed?
That is the title of an email I received just a bit ago (without the question mark). Talk about drama queens! This was an email sent out from none other than Randy Thomasson, the “founder and president” of the Campaign for Children and Families. By the way, he is also the treasurer for VoteYesMarriage.com. No big surprise, since I guess he needs to make money somehow and like Peter LaBarbera, about the only way he can do that is off the backs of gays and lesbians.
But this time he is really, really desperate for money. Here is the opening lines of the email (I’ve removed the links):

I guess I am sending this out to ‘unprincipled’ friends? :) Here is more:
Today the enemies of marriage are the activist judges of the infamously wacky California Supreme Court. These judges are expected to impose same-sex “marriages” upon every California community as soon as February.
The other big enemy of marriage is the Democrat-controlled California Legislature. The ultra-liberal politicians there are about to pass AB 43 mandating “gender-neutral” marriages. AB 43 actually deletes “a man and a woman” from California’s marriage laws.
And what’s more, if they get their way in California, you know they will push their anti-family, anti-child agenda nationally, but we have a plan to beat them!
And what is that plan?
The VoteYesMarriage.com coalition has crafted a tamper-proof California constitutional amendment to protect everything about marriage – marriage licenses, marriage rights, and all legal aspects of marriage – for one man and one woman. This is what we’ve all been waiting for! And how are they going to go about enacting this?
The bottom line is this. We have only a few more weeks to raise the $2.5 million needed to qualify our rock-solid, tamper-proof marriage amendment for the ballot. Otherwise, you and I will have no way to stop the California Supreme Court or the California Legislature from imposing homosexual “marriages” on every community for every child to see.
What do they need 2.5 million dollars for, except to line their own pockets? They have already paid $250.00 to try and get it put on the ballot (I think that is what the amount is–if it is different, it is not over $500.00).
And listen to the violent language Mr. Thomasson has to say about legislators and ‘activist judges’:
This is our great chance to spank California’s liberal legislators and activist judges and fix a decade of liberal damage. While the flood of small gifts is helping us toward our critical goal of $2.5 million, I’m afraid that small gifts alone won’t get us there in time. We need those who have been blessed with more generous means to do their parts to help usher this landmark marriage protection amendment to victory.
Spank? Sounds pretty childish to me. Here is more of his groveling and begging for big money:
We must protect marriage. This is our responsibility, happening on our watch, in our generation. Remember, evil triumphs when good people do nothing. But with your donation, and strong financial backing from those who can give $1,000, $10,000, $100,000 or more to VoteYesMarriage.com, we will win this fight…and stop the radical activist judges and liberal politicians in their tracks!

I would be so embarrassed to be Randy Thomasson right now. I can just see him down on his knees weeping to the public in his begging for money. He sounds so desperate! One wonders if his job is on the line, considering the language.
I will be very interesting to hear what Thomasson has to say about his God when he 1) doesn’t raise the money and 2) when he doesn’t get the signatures. Will his God still be watching over him? Well, at least his God of money, which is really all he cares about.
And someone should instruct Thomasson on a bit of ethics and in logic. The fact that two men and two women could get married has nothing to do with, and certainly does not destroy, straight marriage. It is ridiculous to even suggest that, although many of these anti-gay activists will state this.
